|Transcription=knoweth that her master arlate freely suffered her to be [XXXXX] and made noe
deniall of any of his lading or [XXXXX], at which time the arlate 100 barrells
of powder were stowed in the hold of the said shipp which is of about 100 tonnes
or thereabouts, and had 15 [persons] aboard. And otherwise hee cannot depose
saving that the Captaine of the said man of war carried the said
vessell being soe taken to Plimouth of this deponents sight/

To the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith that the interrogated James Jacobson hath bin master of the shipp
the ''Rat van Aventure'' arlate when shee was built, and that this is her
first voyage, and saith her said owners built her at Rotterdam. And otherwise
saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose.

To the second hee saith that ll the owners of the said ship are accompted to be
dutch men and dwellers in holland and subiects of the states of the United
Provinces, of which owners the said skipper is one, but this deponent hath noe
share in her, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid

To the third hee cannot depose, saving as aforesaid.

To the fourth hee saith that hee this deponent and the rest of the mariners
were hired by the moneth, and that the owners victualled the ship which
was victualed for about tenn monethes with beefe, fish, butter, [XXXX]
and other necessaries, And otherwise hee cannot answer.

To the 5th hee saith hee soth not knowe the interrogated P[XXXX], or know his
parents

To the 6th hee saith that the said powder was laden at Rotterdam
and hee knewe of her said voyage about a moneth before shee soe sailed
which was then in finishing and preparing for the voyage, and otherwise
saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose.

To the 7th hee saith that the said ship was seized betwixt Plimouth and
ffalmouth, at which time the said master had the care of the said shipp and
lading, and otherwise negatively.

To the 8th hee saith that the said shipp only put into G[XXX GXXX] after
shee went from Rotterdam before shee was seized and into noe other port
or harbour and had not unladen any goods out of her, and spent the rest
of her time in sailing, having staid about 3 dayes and nights in G[XXX GXXX].

To the 9th hee saith that the said shipp hath alwaies bin called the ''Rat van
Aventure'' since her first building, and that noe other than the said skipper
was ever master of her, and otherwise hee cannot answer.

To the 10th hee saith hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid.

To the 11th and 12th hee saith that this deponent alwaies spake and declared the
truth [touching] the said goods aboard and what powder and [?amunition] they
had aboard and where they were stowed, and that the said 100 barrells
were stowed in hold under some deale boards and over the ballast, and
saith the barrells of small shot were not [XXXX] as is arlate And
otherwise saving as aforesaid hee cannot depose.
