Resident in 1655 in the parish of Sait Buttolph without Bishopsgate.

==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Forty-four year old John Wheelwright deposed on November 21st in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation on behalf of Thomas Browning in the case of "Thomas Browning master of the shipp the ''ffortune'' and Richard Hasleton against Joseph Tilley and others, owners of the same".<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.639v Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.639v]]</ref>

John Wheelwright stated that he was a member of the company of the ''ffortune'' from July 1654 until March 25th 1655. Thomas Browning was the master of the ship.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.639v Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.639v]]</ref> The ship went on a voyage from London to Sally on the Barbary coast and to other ports before returning to London.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.640r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.640r]]</ref>
