 Ryder contests several of the alleged facts stated in the Bill.  Correcting the Bill he states that his former servant Richard Bayly only married Ryder's daughter after the events described in the Bill.  He states that the £800 borrowed from John Colvile, the London goldsmith, was after the signing of the bond of £2000, and not before.  He states that there was no agreement that the £2000 should be paid into Colvile's hands.
