 There is no estate map for Deane and surviving textual references to the size and nature of the lands and tenements associated with the house are very limited.  Sir George Oxenden's elder brother, Sir Henry Oxenden, wrote only sparingly of estate matters. Occasionally a vivid detail appears in the younger brother's Surat letter books.  For example, in April 1663 Lady Margaret Oxenden asks Sir George to look after Solly's boy, possibly the son of a family friend.
