Mun Browne was a son of the London merchant Humfry Browne, and was a nephew of ''SVJS'' subscriber Edwin Browne. Mun's mother remarried the London merchant and ''SVJS'' subscriber Sir Thomas Bludworth, whom Mun refers to as his father-in-law. The London merchant Sir John Buckworth was married to one of his aunts

Mun himself was a Smyrna based merchant. He was free of both the Levant and the East India companies.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Mun Browne sonne of Humpry Browne Merchant free of the Levant Mercer and East India Company of London being something indisposed of health yet in perfect sense and memory Doe appoint these my ensuing lines as my last Will and Testament

IMPRIMIS Relyeing on my Redeemer Jesus Christ Recomend my Soule and body To the onely mercy of Almighty Godin Blessed Trinity Beseeching Pardon for my past sinfull life Through the Merritts of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ and salvation in Life Everything Amen

FIRST for the worldly goods which concern my deceased brother John Congreve which he left mee his Executor to look after for his daughter Elizabeth And his sonne Giles And in my Absence M:r John Buckworth and M:r William Rawsterne he left Executors I desire said persons To be my Executors As to that Estate And that they immediately Cleere that accompt before paying my Legacies as followeth

As to my worldly goods I leave my deare wife Sole Executrix To dispose as followeth

To my Cozin Edwin Browne I leave ffifty pounds as a Legacie

To his brother Henry Browne ffifty pounds more

And to their brother John Browne my Apprentice two hundred pound, his time not being expired nor the imployment sent

him as should have performed had the Almighty spared me with longer life for the same reason I doe now bequeath to my present servant Thomas Gladwin All the money I have received from him as an apprentice As will appeare by Cash Book

To my godson Edwin Rawsterne I bequeath also ffifty pounds as a Legacie

And to my sister Martha Loe Tenn pounds as a legacie And six pounds for morninge

To my ffather in law Sir Thomas Bludworth my Mother his lady and the Rest of their Children I bequeath ffifty pounds for morninge

To my uncle and Aunt and Aunt Park Twenty pounds

To my Aunt Clay Tenn pounds

To my Aunt Brown I bequeath morninge And a Ring value ffifteene pounds,

To M:r John Buckworth and his lady Twenty pounds for morninge

And to my Cozen Elizabeth Congreve and Giles morning Tenn pounds And legacies Tenn pounds for each

And to Cozen W:m Rawstorne and his lady Twenty pounds for morning besides my Mare and Colt in his possession I give him And my mare with fole in Nonsuch Park I give to my Cosen Edwin Browne

And to my ffootboy Joseph I leave tenn pounds to put him Apprentice

And last of all which should have been ffirst I leave to the Poore of Cheston parish in Hartfordshire Tenn pounds To the poore of my owne parish Alder=Mary where I desire to be buried Tenn pounds And to the poore of St Thomas his hospitall Thirty pounds

The Remainder of my One third part of Estate I leave to my deare wife and Children to be distributed as followeth One third to my wife with the Diamond Ring I weare One third to my sonne Humphrey with the Seale Ring I weare one sixth to my daughter Mary and one sixth to the Child my wife now goes with The other two thirds of my Estate will of course fall (viz:t) one third to my wife and one third to my children in equall shares which God grant may be good devided And that they may all live in love pease and Charity And in the ffear of the Lord Amen
