Richard Edwards (b. ca. 1616; d. ?). Mariner.

A member of the company of the coal ship the ''Agreement'' in October 1658. Richard Edwards states that he was "being on board and one of the Company of the said ship the ''Agreement'' the said voyage, and time aforesaid, and was one that called out to the Abigails Company to the effect aforesaid.<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.32r Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.32r]]</ref> In response to the interrogatories he states "hee was a Commonman of the said ship"<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.32v Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.32v]]</ref>

Resident in 1658 in Shadwell.

==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Forty-two year old Richard Edwards deposed on January 21st 1658 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation in the case of "Sorrell and others against Hall and others".<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.31v Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.31v]]</ref>

The ship the ''Agreement'' (Master: John Hall) was with a large number of ships coming from Newcastle to London with coal. Richard Edwards provides his version of the facts of the incident in which the ship the ''Abigail'' came foul of the ''Agreement''.<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.31v Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.31v]]</ref>
