  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

this Rendent beleeveth that the
arlate Grigs who went Master in the
said shipp did neglect and omitt
his opportunitye soe much and
stayed soe much longer then hee
needed or should have donne
with his shipp before hee arrived
thither that this Rendents goods
being wines were much wasted and
spoiled with longe lyeing soe that
this Rendents factor being out of hope
and expectation of the arrivall of
the said shipp the Mathew and to pre
vent the great losse of the said goods was
there enforced to fraight a great shipp
of att least 400 Tonnes there being
never a lesse to bee gotten whereas a
shipp of 200 Tonnes would have
served his Turne as well and did
alsoe buy other goods to lade upon the
said shipp of 400 Tonnes withall which
said wines and other goods by reason
of theire longe lyeing there and other
dammages were much spoiled and
damnified by which meanes and the
charges in freight [?in] the said other shipp
att Nants to bringe home this Rendents
goods which the Mathewe would have
donne in case the said Griggs had used
what care and dilligence hee ought
