  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

libelli als con[?a] [?XXX] ex parte
Georgi Keate ul[?XXXXXdat]
sequitur./ videlicet.

To the first position of the said pretended
libell he answereth and beleeveth that in
the yeare 1647. and the monethes
thereof, and in the yeare 1648 and untill
the time that the arlate Thomas
Mullenox dyed, which as this respondent
beleeveth was in some moneth of the
said yeare 1648.) he the said Thomas
Mullenox was master of the articulate
shippe the Mary Bonadventure, and
had and tooke upon him the care and
charge and government of the said shippe
by and with the consent of the owners of
her. And this respondent hath heard
and beleeveth that the said Mullenox was
alsoe owner of one sixteenth part of the
said shippe and her tackle and furniture.
And otherwise he doth not beleeve the
said position to be true in any parte
thereof./

To the second position of the said
pretended libell he answereth and
beleeveth that in the time arlate the
arlate shippe the Mary Bonadventure
was and remained in the river of
Thames bound out to sea upon a voyage
to the Barbadoes arlate or some other
place or porte arlate, And otherwise he
doth not beleeve the said pretended
position to be true in any parte
thereof./
