  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

The personall Answers of
George dawes made to the
oretensed positions of a pretensed
Libell given against him on
the behalfe of William Moore
Alexander [?Eve] and Company
as followeth

To the first hee answereth That hee
doeth beleeve the respective parties in
the arlate schedule mentioned were
within the time arlate owners of soe
many parts of the shippe arlate as
in the said schedule are mentioned
but whereas it is expressed that Mr
Proctor was owner of one sixteenth
and one Two and Thirtieth parts hee doeth
beleeve hee was owner of one eight
parte and whereas it is expressed in the
said schedule that Mr Morefeild
and Mr Thackstone were owners of
one eight parte of the said shippe hee doeth
beleeve they were owners but of
one sixteenth and one Two and Thirtieth
parts and noe more as hee beleeveth And
otherwise hee doeth not beleeve the said
position to bee true/

To the second hee answereth That hee
doeth beleeve the same to bee true/
