Adding footnotes

  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Ad 9um rendet That he beleiveth that it was the faulte f the
merchants that [?stoed] the sayd sugers in the lighter aforesaid
that they did not provide porters to take ashoare or lande the
said sugers. the first or second tyde after they were broughte to
the Custome house key, and that it was noe gayne but losse, unto
the said Coltman that they were not landed the said first or second
tyde, and he beleiveth that if they had bene then landed the said
lighter might have bene fitt and readye for some other imployment
and to take into her another fraighte./ Et alr nescit rendere/

Ad 10um rendet That he beleiveth that the damage which happened to the
sugers in the lighter before mentioned happened by the said lighters
lyeinge on grounde at lowe water at the said key soe longe as is predeposed of with
her ladinge of sugers abord her, and that he doth not remember
that he heard any complainte made of the leakines of the said lighter
or or any damage in the said sugers by wett, untill the said lighter
had layen a tyde or two with her ladinge at the said key Et alr mnescit
