Adding footnotes

  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Johannes Blackborne parochia Sancti Michaelis in Cornehill Mercator Scissor
aetatis 51 annorum aut circiter testis in hac parte productus iuratus
et examinatus./

Ad primum secondum et reliquuos arlos libelli in hac parte dat et oblat et schedulum
[?XXX] menconat dicit et deponit That about twelve day last past this deponent
at the request of the arlate Symon Smyth came to the sayd Smyths house
in Seethinge Lane to viewe certayne East Country Buckrams which had
then bene lately suncke (as the sayd Smyth tould him) in the river of
Thames in a shipp which came from the East Countrey, which Buckrams this
deponent viewed and is well acquainted with the condition of them (beinge
a Uphoulster by trade, and dealinge much in those commodityes) and sayeth
that if the sayd Buckrams had bene drye and well conditioned they
would have yeilded and bene worth six shillings six pence per peece but
they were and are dampnifyed and lesse worth to be sould by reason of the sayd wett two shillings and
six pence in every peece and are not worth to be sould above fower
shillings per peece. And this he affirmeth uppon his oath to be true
