  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

dicit quoad Vincentium delabarr partem prodicentem per
decem annos ult etaps aut eo circiter bene novit
et Edwardum Carlisle partem contra quam productuus per
annum et [?XXXX] [?anis] ult etaps aut eo [?XXXiam] novit

Ad 2um arlum libelli in hac parte dat et oblat dicit et
deponit That uppon the one and twentieth day of december
1635 at the White horse Taverne in Lumbard streete
London, the arlate Vincent delabarr in the presence and
heareing of this examinate and Martyn Plant did treat with
Edward Carlisle who (as hee said) was then Master and
parteowner of the shippe called the ffrendshippe of
Boston concerninge a voyage to bee made by the
said shippe for the said delabarr to Nannts in ffrance
and at that tyme and place that was aggreed betweene the
said Vincent delabarr and Edward Carlisle that hee
the said Edward Carlisle with the said shipp the
ffrendshippe should here in this port of London take in
