Adding footnotes

  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Ad 5um. affirmat, That in or about the moneth of November
1644. when as the said shippe the Discovery was bounde
out to sea uppon a voyage, this examinate and the arlate
Gregory Clement, and Captaine Robert Moulton the elder
had a meeting togeather, and then and there this examinate
brought in to them the accompts and the severall bills
of the chardge of setting fourth of the said shipp
for that voyage, which was cast upp and allowed by them,
and the said Gregory Clement then undertooke and
promissed to pay and satisfie a quarter part of that
chardge declaring himselfe to bee Owner of a fourth
part of that shippe excepting onely one fifth part of
that fourth part of the said shippe, which hee said
Maurice Thompson held with him, And this hee
affirmeth uppon his oath to bee true, Et alr nescit./
