  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Upon the allegation given [?2] december 1650 on the
behalf of the said Bowle.

Richard Pe[XXXX] of Saint Catherines nere the tower London
Marriner aged 4[?9] or thereabouts sworne and Examined
deposeth as followeth./

To the 2d article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth That it
is usuall and frequent for Masters of Shipps who are likewise partowners
of theire Shipps of which they are Masters to sell and then [XXXX] away theire
parts of theire shipps of which they are Masters to other persons. And [XXX XXXXXX they]
doe continue theire Master shipps, and are by those who did knowe they were
part owners and knowe not of the [XXXXX] of the same parts, reputed partowners
And in the other side hee saith it is usuall for a Master of a shipp to bee
accompted a Partowner when hee hath not the least share therein, but only
is barely Master of such shipp and servant to the Owners And this hee
deposeth for truth haveing bin Master him self of three or foure shipps
and also hath knowne divers other Masters of Shipps, that have beene
accompted partowners, when they have not beene so, and have beene partwoners
also when they have bin Masters of Shipps, And further hee cannot depose.

To the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent./
