Transcription

To the first second and third articles of the said Allegation hee saith
and deposeth That hee this deponent well knoweth the arlate
Nicholas [?Budeveir] and hath soe done for the space of these
twenty yeares and upwards during all which tyme hee hath bin
and att present is a Merchant dwelling at Lisle in fflannders
and a subiect of the King of Spaine and a man who for all or the
greatest partof the said tyme hath driven and now doeth drive
a great and a constant trade to Mallaga Cadiz and other parts
in Spaine where hee hath his correspondents remaining
accordingly And saith that in or about the moneth of Aprill last
past there was att Cadiz laden and put on bord the said Shippethe Saint John Evangelist whereof this deponent was and is Commander
at Cadiz the number as five hundred peeces of eight in one bag marked
as in the marhent (and of which hee was and is comonly accompted the
true and undoubted Owner) to bee transported in the said ship
from Cadiz to Ostend or Dunquerke where the same was consigned
to bee delivered to the said Nicholas [?Budieere] or his assignes for
his propper Riscoe abd accompt which hee knoweth because
hee this deponent being at the tyme predeposed Commander of the said
shippe did see the said plate laden thereupon under the markes
and for the accompt of the said Nicholas Bud[?eere] and sawe the same entred
into his precontests booke accordingly And further cannot depose
