The Clayme of Paulus Cobrisse of Bridges}
in fflanders for his money plate and sylver}
in the shipp the Saint George whereof John}
Martins is Captaine taken by some of the}
Parliaments shipps Smith Budd}

Examined upon the sayd allegation.

Juan de Losa Barona of Limma in the
West Indies merchant aged forty yeares
or thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined
deposeth and saith as followeth. videlicet.

To the first and second Articles of the sayd Allegation This deponent saith
that the arlate Paulus Cobrisse was and is a fflandrian borne and a
merchant of Bridges, and there hath lived for twenty yeares and
upwards and indeed by common repute for all his tyme, and is a subiect
of the King of Spaine and a merchant of good ranke and account
and so reputed, And for these 8 yeares now past of this deponents
knowledge hath driven a constant trade in merchandizeing betwixt
fflanders Cadiz, Saint Lucar and other places in Spaine, and likewise
to the Indies, and hath had his Agents and Correspondents in the sayd
places respectively to whom he hath sent severall merchanises of great
value and receyved the Returnes thereof from them in money plate
and sylver and other goods. the premisses this deponent knoweth having
bene for the sayd space of eight yeares a Correspondent of the sayd
Pau;us Cobrisse and of his factors in Spaine, and having done their busines
of merchandizeing in Limma and other places of Peru in the West Indies
and otherwise cannot depose.
