The first of June 1653. [CENTRE HEADING]

The claime of George Boscaart and James}
Puinquett Merchant of Antwerp for their money}
and silver in the Sampson, Salvador and Saint George}

Examined upon the allegation and schedules
on the behalfe of the said claimers.

John Moller of Antwerp , servant of the said
Mr Boscaart one of the producents, aged 22 yeares
or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first article of the said allegation hee deposeth and saith that in and
for all the time arlate and for some monethes and yeares before and continually
since and at present the producents George Boscaert and James Puiquet
have severally driven and still doe drive and use a constant trade from Antwerp toCadiz in Spaine and places about Cadiz for plate and moneys, and for all
the said time have and and still have their factors agents and correspondents
at the said places in Spaine to that purpose, and for persons using such a
trade they the said producents have bin and are commonly accompted and reputed
which hee knoweth being servant and Cashier of the said George Boschaart
and using to write or copie his letters of advice sent into Spaine in that way of
trading. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the second article hee saith and deposeth that within the said time and
more particularly in or about the monethes of August September and
October last past the said producents George Boschaart and James
Puiquett by their agents and factors and for the accompt of them the said producents
did lade and caused to be laden aboard the said shipp the Sampson (whereof
Otto George was and is master) the Salvador (whereof Christian Cloppenburgh
was and is master) and the Saint George (whereof John Martinson dorp
then was and is master) then severally lying at or neare Cadiz and bound
for Ostend in the Dominions of the king of Spaine theise severall and
respective barrs and peeces of silver following and hereafter mentioned
videlicet on board the said shipp the Sampson three greate barrs of silver
No.232. 610. 13 weighing together three hundred ninetie and five markes
and three ounces of fine silver marked as in the mmargent for the accompt of
the said producents And aboard the said shipp the Salvador two cases No.
4 with seaven peaces No. 31 one peace, No. 7 one peace, No. 18 two peaces No.
19 two peaces, No. 35 one peace, the case No. 5 with tenn peaces, No. 62 one peace
No. 80 [?0] 2 peaces, No. 82 foure peaces, No. 73 three peaces, weighing together
671 markes and three fourth parts of an ounce of fine silver and
marked with the second marke in the margin. And aboard the said
shipp the Saint George one case No. 16 wherein are packed three barrs of
silver, No. 81. 82. 83, which doe weigh together two hundred seaventie
and six markes and foure ounces of fine silver, marked with the
third marke in the margin. And alsoe eleaven peaces of silver, whereof
nine of the numbers following No. 94. 1. 2. 13. 24. 36. 23. 87. 22 and [?more]
without numbers two small baggs with diverse peaces of silver weighing together
474 markes, 4 ounces and a quarter, of fine silver marked with the fourth marke
in the margin; some of theise eleaven peaces marked with an A and some
without marke and are baretons and round peaces small and greate one with
another to be severally transported in the said shipps the Sampson, the
Salvador and the Saint George to Ostend aforesaid for the account
of the said producents and upon their adventure, and to be delivered to
Peter Lams or his assignes for the said accompt and adventure
of the said producents, who at the time and times of the said lading
and ever since and at present have bin and are the true and lawfull owners
and proprietors of the said silver and plate and of every part thereof
and for such commonly accompted and reputed, which hee knoweth
being servant as aforesaid of the said George Boschaert and acquainted
with the orders and letters sent from him and the said Puiquett to [?XXXXX]
