which this deponent knoweth for the reasons aforesaid, And saith, That the
said shipps in their Course from Cadiz [ffleed] towards Ostend with the said silver
and moneys respectively aboard them were surprized and taken by some of the
shipps of this Commonwealth, and brought up here to London where they now
remaine. And further cannot depose.

To the 7th hee saith his foregoing deposition is true.

To the Crosse Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first negatively.

To the second hee saith hee hath knowne the interrate Edwards Peters for 5. or 6
yeares or thereabouts, and John Lamotte personally for about 4 yeares, and
Peter Lois and William Jansen for about 7 [?] yeares onely by correspondency
And otherwise cannot depose not being at Cadiz at the time interrate

To the third hee saith the interrate John Lamotte and William Jansen are
the producents factors but that hee is not factors to or for them, And otherwise
saving his foregoing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose.

To the 4th hee saith the interrate Edward Peters is an Antwerper borne and for
such accompted, and hath lived there for the time this deponent hath knowne him
living with his family in the Kipdorp streete in Antwerp, and the
interrate John Lamotte and William Jansen the first a fflandrian the
second a Hamburgher borne are commonly accompted inhabitants of Cadiz
in Spaine. And further cannot depose.

To the 5. and 6th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition, And further
or otherwise cannot depose, not being at Cadiz at the time of lading interrate.

To the 7th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition. And otherwise
cannot depose.

To the 8 and 9th and 10th hee knoweth nothing thereof, saving his foregoing deposition.

To the 11th hee saith hee is for the reasons by him predeposed clearly convinced
in Conscience, that the severall parcells of sylver now Claymed by the producent
doe really and in trueth belong unto him alone, and should in the said shipps,
have bin convoyed directly to Ostend, and there delivered for his accompt.

To the 12 and 13th hee saith, That before the lading of the sylver in question
this deponent often heard the producent declare his expectation of great quantities
of silver and monies from Cadiz in retourne of his goods sent thither, and
hath seene and presented the letters and instructions sent by the said producent
to his severall factors for the sending of silver and moneys to him in returne of
goods which hee had sent them for his owne accompt. And further cannot depose.
