Transcription

of the sayd [?} containing two thousand eight hundred peru [?} one case
[?] wherin were onely fifteene hundred Ryalls and the same was
filled upp with sivrall barres of sylver weighing in the whole one hundred
eighty four markes, the sayd five[?} cases being mentioned in the fifth
firth[?] arlate, and aboard the Salvador Christian Cloppenburgh master one
Case of Ryalls of eight peru money conteyning two thousand seven hundred
and fifty [?} mentioned in the second schedule arlate. And aboard the
arlate shipp St George twelve barrs of sylver weighing sixteene
and two cases or trunkes with linnen and table[?]plate and a bagg of
money contayning two hundred and and fifty peices of eight more or less
all the sayd plate money and goods to be carryed transported in the sayd
shipps respectively for the use accompt and [?} of the sayd John Mexia
de [?] to be delivered att Ostend to himself or Agents for his [?}
and Accompt And his further saith that for and during all the tyme arlate
the sayd producent was and att present is the true sole and lawfull Owner and
Proprietor of the sayd money plate and Goods and for such was and is
accometed and taken, the [?] this deponent knoweth to be true having
seene all the sayd money plate in the quiet and [?] [?} of the
producent att Lima in the West Indies where he bought and promised[?} the
same for his owne use, and [?} and knowing that he brought the same[?}
from the Indies aforesayd to Cadiz where this deponent new the same[?}
laden aboard the sayd shipps respectively as aforesayd for the use [?}
and Accompt of him the sayd John Mexia de Herrera[?}. And further saith
that he this deponent saw the sayd moneys sold[?} and counted in the WEst Indies
and there assisted[?} to take upp and bagged up the same, and there otherwise
saw the markes and numbers of the weight of the sayd barrs and [?]
whereby and by the bill he[?} to [?] to know the weight of the same. And otherwise he cannot
depose, saving he saith he saw the sayd cases and barrs marked but cannot
[?] forth the [?] marks referring himselfe in that [?] to the
Bills of Lading to the Allegation annexed and saving that producent has[?] he hath knowne [?] cannot [?] [?]

To the third he hath saith That after the lading of the Sylver as aforesayd and on or
aboard the thirteenth day of October as this deponent hath heard and believeth
the sayd shipps departed from Cadiz and were seized in the [?] by the shipps
of the Takers[?] as the deponent beleiveth. And further he cannot depose

To the fourth he saith and deposeth that after the lading of the sayd sylver and
plate as aforesayd [?] on or about the seventh day of October 1612[?}. he
this deponent was present and saw the arlate Otto George Captain of the Sampson[?]
aboard his shipp signed and firme three bills lading all of one [?]
for the sayd six cases 0of Ryalls of eight [?] they [?} [?} [?} [?] one of [?] laden aboard the Sampson as
aforesayd mentioned in the said first schedule arlate, and saw likewise the [?]
[?] Martin [?] signe firme aboard his shipp the St George
three bills of lading all of one [?] for the sayd twelve barrs of sylver and [?] Shipps of
barress of sylver mentioned in the sayd third schedule arlate laden aboard the sayd
shipp St GEorge as aforesayd. And further saith that after signing of the sayd
Bills as aforesayd sylver eyther of the sayd Captaines had and tooke one of the sayd
bills respectively keeping the same in his owne position. And further
referring himself to the Acts of this Court[?} he cannot depose.

To the fifth he saith that the two Bills of lading one whereof [?} [?]
