  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number

Transcription

The 24th day of August 1653. [CENTRE HEADING]

Examined upon the sayd Allegation.

Thomas Juan of Cadiz in Spayne
merchant aged forty yeares or thereabouts
a witnes sworne and examined deposeth and
saith as followeth.

To the first article of the sayd Allegation this deponent saith that the arlate
Pedro Hulee whom this deponent hath knowne for theis five yeares or
thereabouts in the moneth of September 1652 att Cadiz was in the quiet
possession of the Tobaccoes hereafter mentioned which came to Cadiz in the
Spanish galleons from the Indies that is to say of ten potaccoes
of tobacco ofmarked with the first marke in the margent, and three potaccoes
