  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Transcription

as is predeposed, did then and there understand that there was a peace
concluded betwixt this Commonwealth and the dutch, and read a [?speciall]
proclamation bearing date the 26th day of Aprill last past, importing
so much, wherein this rendent observed that the time limited by the
said Proclamation for the takeing of Prizes from or upon the dutch
in the narrow seas did extend 12. daies afeter publication, within which time the said shipp
the dope was taken, and so much this deponent upon his returne from
Yarmouth with the Pylott as aforesaid certified to and acquainted
the said Tresaure and Companie, and the said Cornelissen dope
withall, And otherwise negatively:-/

To the 4th hee saith, That according to the relation of the said John
Cornelissen dope, the said shipp dope was laden with barley, some
barrells of beef and other goods, but what they were or of what valew
this deponent saith hee knoweth not for that hee never saw the same
and saith that two other Collier shipps, and the said mann of warr was
runn aground at or about one and the same time, did in this
deponents sight gett off, and knoweth of noe shipp or Vessell lost at that time
or upon that occasion save the said dope./:
