arlate to be due to the mariners therein alsoe named, and usually paid
to Mariners of other shipps who goe the like voyages as the Thomas and Lucie
did the voyage in question, and are capable of the like service as the
Mariners in the sayd schedule named did and performed in the sayd shipp the Thomas
and Lucy And further hee cannot depose not being privie to the bargaine made with
them by the Master of the Thomas and Lucie when hee hyred them And further hee cannot
depose/

To the 17th hee saith that hee was present when the shipps company of the
Thomas and Lucie and this deponent among others of them did demande the pay due to them for the voyage in question of
the arlate Roger ha[?tt]on who denyed to pay the same and saith it is still unpaid to their
great losse and damage And further hee cannot depose saving what hee hath predeposed and his following deposition

To the 18th hee referreth him selfe to the Registry of this Court and further cannot depose/

To the 19th hee saith the Company of the saud shipp Thomas and Lucie by reason of the
arlate Broderick Hatton and Maples their refuseing to pay them their wages for the voyage in question
are damnified to the value of 100 li sterling as hee beleeveth besides their principall money due
for wages, by reason that for want of the sae they cannot provide them selves
with necessaries to undertake service in other shipps and are thereby informed
to stay at home and have bin dissapointed of other voyages they might have made
if the same had bin paid And further hee cannot depose but referreth himselfe
to the lawe in that case provided./

To the 20th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing depositions and to the lawe
And further cannot depose./

To the 21th hee saith the arlate William Maples Thomas Broderick and Roger
Hatton are subiects of this Commonwealth and soe accompted and subiect as
hee beleeveth to the Jurisdiction of this Court/.

To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./

To the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee was one of the Company of the shipp Interrogated
and doth expect his wagesfor his service therein if the Interrogate Baartlett and others
parties un this suite doe recover theirs due to them, and doth endevour and desyre
by all lawfull meanes hee may, that the said Bartlett and other Mariners parties to this
suite may recover their wages but not otherwise And further cannot answere

To the 2 Interrogatorie hee saith that Bartlett and the Mariners who sue for wages in this cause and all the rest of the sayd shipps company after
they had demanded of him parte of their wages to supply their necessities wuth
as aforesaydm and that hee refused to pay them any part thereof, did (by such
his refusall being thereto constreyned) desert the sayd shipp Thomas and Lucie
without the leave of the sayd Maples, who told them hee would get his sayd shipp repayred
and desyred them to stay and goe with him on his intended voyage, but still refused to pay
them any thing, And further hee cannot answere not knnowing or having heard
of any protest made by the sayd Maples against the sayd mariners./
