Transcription

To the 2d Interogatory he answereth that he first saw the shipp
the Dove (whereof Walter Cable was Master) at London
about a twelvemoneth since, and hath seene her very often
since for that he hath sayled in Company with her severall
voyages, and that he hath knowne the sayd Cable for about
7 yeares last, And further he cannot answeare.

To the third Interrogatory he answereth that he beleiveth that the
place called the Wekk interrate is about halfe a score of miles
over, and that most shipps passe over it sayleing from
London to Newcastle, And to the [?rest] of the sayd
Interrogatory he cannot answeare.

To the 4th 5. 6th and seaventh Interrogatoryes he answereth
that the same Interrogatoryes concerne not him for that he
hath not deposed to the sammage alleaged, and further than
that he cannot answeare.

To the 8th Interrogatory he answereth that he can write and
reade but did not take any noate writing when Cables
shipp did passe over the Well, And further referring
himselfe to his former deposition he cannot answeare

Examined upon the same allegation.

Robert Hill of upper Shadwell in the parish
of Stepney alias Stenenheath in the County of
Middlesex Mariner , where he hath lived about 20ty
yeares aged 54 or thereabouts sworne and
examined he deposeth as followeth

To the seaventh article of the sayd allegation he deposeth
and saith That he this deponent was one of the Company
of the shipp the William and James, The which sayd
shipp sayled with two shipps more and the shipp the
Dove in Company out of Winterton Roade towards
Newcastle, and that the sayd fower shipps (whereof
the Dove was one) sett sayle out of Winterton Roade
on Munday the seaventh of August last (as he
well remembreth) and that the sayd shipps did sayle
over the place called the Well arlate on the night following
And further he cannot depose.

To the tenth article he cannot depose.

To the rest he is not examined by order
of the producent.

To the first Interrogatory he answereth that he cometh as
a wittnes in this cause being compelled And that
he never saw (that he knoweth) the interrate
shipp the Successe And to the rest of the
sayd Interrogatoryes he answereth negatively./
