pounds sterling or thereabouts, and that they plundered away six [?orse]
shirts and asmany bands, a paire of stockings, a perspective glasse {?an ?XX]
two gammons of bacon worth together 47 gilders or thereabouts
all which hee knoweth being present and seeing the premisses soe
donne. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the fifth hee saith that the french freighters for their goods laden
aboard the said shipp were to pay (as hee understood at the time of the
affreightment) for the whole freight of their goods 3700 gilders
and for the masters capcloth 100 gilders, and 20 gilders a day for each
day of demorrage. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith hee was bourne and hath lived all his time at
fflushing, and hath belonged to the Elizabeth about 8 monthes last. And
otherwise saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose.

To the 2 hee saith hee knoweth myn heer Gisling, myn heer van Acker
ffrancis Maughllan, myn heer van Piere, Arian Baucker, Cornelius
Williamson, John Gill and the Schipper, owners or part owners of the
said shipp and hath soe donne for theise twenty yeares last or thereabouts
and some of them longer, and saith they are all of fflushing, and
subiects of the States of the United Netherlands. And otherwise hee
cannot depose.

To the 3. 4. 5. 6. 7 and 8 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and
his former examination, and saith the said feathers cost 6 stivers and a
halfe per pound and that the Rosia cost some 40. gilders, some 40
gilders 10 stivers and some 42 gilders the thousand, And otherwise
saving as aforesaid hee cannot depose, and saving that the turpentine
cost 7. gilders the hundred./

To the 9 hee saith the master was to receive his freight for the freight
goods at haver da Grace, And otherwise saving as aforesaid hee
cannot depose.

Examined upon the libell on the behalfe of the
said Tailer.

Thomas Butts of Barking in Essex ffisherman aged 34 yeares
or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first article hee saith and deposeth that hee hath well knowne
the producent Christofer Tailer for theise twenty yeares last
and upwards, and knew him in his apprenticeshipp to John Zouch a
ffisherman in Barking, and hath knowne him to be a ffisherman of the
trade or calling of a ffisherman of Barking for theise twelve yeares last
and that for and during all the said time hee the said Christofer hath
followed that trade or calling, and fished within the Jurisdiction of the Admiraltie
of England, and hath maintained himselfe and familie thereby, which hee knoweth
for that hee this deponent is and for theise 14. yeares last or thereabouts
hath bin a ffree ffisherman of that place, and hath exercised that imployment
and vocation for all the said time. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the second Interrogatorie (sic) and the schedule therein mentioned hee referreth
himselfe to the said schedule and Registrie of this Court, And otherwise hee
cannot depose.
