ship that the company were faine to spread weather sailes over the shipps
netting to windward to keepe the sprie of the sea out of the ship, and
used all other possible meanes to keepe the water out and to preserve
the goods from damage, all which notwithstanding the ship tooke in
much water by meanes of the said storme, soe that whatsoever damage
hath befallen any of her lading the said voyage the same came and
happened mearly by meanes of the storme, and not by any defect of
the ship or neglect in the master and company, or in any of them for
hee saith they all quit themselves like honest men, and dischardged
all duties of carefull mariners during all the [?terme] of the voyage,
which hee knoweth being one of her company as aforesaid. And
otherwise hee cannot depose.
