11. of the sayd hugh Salisbury and others.

14. Mariner late Boatswayne of the sayd shipp the
15. Christopher aged .. twenty nine yeares or thereabouts
16. a witnesse sworne before the right Worshipfull John
17. Godolphin Doctor of Lawes one of the Judges of the high
18. Court of Admiralty, and examined saith and deposeth
19. as followeth. videlicet.
20. To the first Interrogatorie, This deponent saith he did welll know the interrogat
21. shipp ćalled the Christopher of Portsmouth whereof Daniel Bradley
22. was master in this her last voyage, and he was in her att Leghorne, and
23. att Saint Remo being a place or port neer to Genoa, from whence
24. she was bound for this Port of London, in which voyage he this deponent
25. was Boatswayne in and aboard her. And otherwise he ćannot depose.
26. To the second Interrogatorie he saith, he doth know hugh Salisbury interrogat
27. being a merchant of Portsmouth, who with others there living to the
28. number of three of four (whose persons he knowes though he att present
29. remembreth not their names) are generally reputed as and for the
30. lawfull Owners and Proprietors of the sayd shipp her tackle and
31. furniture. And otherwise, not knowing their particular shares in the
32. same, he saith he cannot depose.
33. To the third Interrogatorie This deponent saith That the sayd shipp departed from
34. Saint Remo neere Genoa in the month of december 1655 last past upon
35. her sayd designed voyage, and in the prosecution of her such voyage
36. being upon her Course she mett with a man of warr being an
37. enemy vessell by whom she and her lading were taken and ćarryed
38. into ˹Shashune˺ ....................... in Spayne and there made prize, And the Company
39. of the sayd Man of warr that so seized the Christopher sayd they had
40. formerly belonged to Brest in ffrance.#

58. as aforesayd Boatswayne of the Christopher, and aboard her when
