5. Richard fford of London Marchant aged 43 yeeres or thereabouts
6. áged and Robert Richbell of Southampton Merchant
7. aged fifty yeeres or thereabouts both sworne before the
8. right Worshippfull John Godolphin Doctor of Lawes one of
9. the Judges of the high Court of Admiraltie of England
10. say and depose respectively by vertue of their oathes as
11. followeth.
12. ffirst the said Richard fford deposeth that hee this deponent and company
13. (all English men, subiects of this Common Wealth and living in England) about
14. foure yeeres since, caused the shipp the Golden ˹hart˺ of London, of the burthen
15. of one hundred and twenty tonnes or thereabouts (Peter Gerbransh now
16. master) to be built at Rotterdam in holland for their sole account, and
17. that they continued sole owners of the whole vessell, tackle and furniture,
18. till about a yeere and halfe since, at which time they sold one third part
19. of her and of her furniture and appertenances to the said Robert Richbell
20. alsoe Englishman and subiect of this Commonwealth, but retained the
21. other two third parts to them selves, and that they are at present owners
22. thereof, and that noe ffrench or dutch subiect or XX person whatsoever
23. other than this deponent Richard fford and company aforesaid hath any part
24. share or proprietie in the said two third parts of the said shipp or of
25. her tackle and furniture. And the said Robert Richbell deposeth
26. that hee soe bought one third part of the said vessell tackle, apparell
27. and furniture of the said Richard fford and company about aforesaid about
28. a yeere and halfe since for his owne account, and hath ever since
29. bin and is at present sole owner of the said third part, and was and is
30. an Englishman and subiect of this Commonwealth.
