Biographical synthesis

John Haige (b. ca. 1599; d. ?). Mariner.

Went steward in May 1653 on the ship the Martha (Master: John Pibus), which went on a whaling voyage to Spitzbergen ("Greeneland").

Resident in 1654 in Shadwell.

Evidence from High Court of Admiralty

Fifty-five year old John Haige deposed on November 25th 1654 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation on behalf of John Pibus in the case of "Lord Protector against Pibus aforesaid".[1]
