Transcription To the 15th hee saith, That this deponent To the 15th hee saith, That this deponent being at Porta Port aforesaid<br /> on the moneths of ffebruary and March aforesaid or thereabouts<br /> (the particular and expressed daies arlate hee now remembreth not) the ham=<br /> burgher or fflemish Vessells predeposed could not in 3. or 4. weekes or<br /> thereabouts (as hee remembreth) passe the said barr notwithstanding shee<br /> drew lesse water then the ''John'', and was designed<br /> to passe the said barr, but could not, as this deponent<br /> saw and observed; whereby this deponent is assured that the said shipp the<br /> ''John'' could not in that time passe the said barr without imminent<br /> and apparent hazard of the said shipp and ladeing. And further<br /> hee cannot depose/ To the 16th hee saith That the ''John'' and the hamburgher shipp<br /> arlate passed over the barr foresaid at one and the same time<br /> of this deponents sight and observation, and that the said hamburgher had fallen downe<br /> towards the said barr with intention to passe, some dayes before the<br /> said shipp ''John'' fell downe thither, And otherwise saving his fore<br /> going deposition hee saith hee cannot depose/ To the 17th hee saith, That the said shipp the ''John'' being fully laden<br /> at Porta Port aforesaid was one of the first shipps of that burthen that within<br /> the time predeposed did or could passe the said barr, And further cannot depose saving<br /> that within or about that time a small dutch man of warr, and some other small vessells<br /> did as hee beleeveth passe the said barr of Porta Port./ To the 18th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition, And<br /> further hee cannot depose./.
