Biographical synthesis

Thomas Jackson (b. ca. 1629; d. ?). Mariner.

"That he was a ffore=Mastman in the voyage interrate, and that he is payd all his wages for the sayd voyage".[1]

Resident in 1655 in South Shields in County Durham. ("Of South Shields in the County of Durham mariner where he hath lived about fower yeares last past").[2]

Evidence from High Court of Admiralty

Twenty-six year old Thomas Jackson deposed on September 22nd 1655 in the High Court of Admiralty.[3] He was examined on an allegation on behalf of John Jackson and Company in the case of "Cary and Company Owners of the Sisters against the shipp the Desire and against John Jackson and Company".[4]

Thomas Jackson stated that "he the deponent was one of the arlate shipp the Desire her Company when (which was on or about the fourth day of february last) she was bound in for Tinmouth haven".
