Queryable fields on a Form based Page

The great majority of MarineLives wiki pages are structured as form based Pages, which are grouped into Volumes.

Wiki users with editorial privileges can create new pages and new volumes using the appropriate buttons in the vertical sidebar.

Form based pages contain a number of standard fields as defined by the form.

All these pre-defined fields are queryable using Special:Ask semantic queries.

The pre-defined fields are as follows:

Parent volume
Folio
Side
Status
First transcriber
First transcribed
Editorial history
Note
Transcription image
Transcription
Language
English translation
People
Places
Ships
Materials
Primary sources
Secondary sources
Suggested links

Pre-defined fields in metadata and contents floating boxes can be interrogated using Special:Ask semantic queries. Example from HCA 13/71 f.400r

The pre-defined fields are used as follows:

Parent volume (Groups pages with assigned folio numbers and sides into volumes. A MarineLives wiki usually matches an archival volume; occasionally MarineLives editors have created "artificial" volumes to loose documents in a logical manner
Folio (Follows the folio markings on the physical document where present; where no folio markings exist, MarineLives editors have created sequential artifical folio markings to allow navigation through a volume)
Side (Side can be recto or verso. MarineLives wiki functionality automatically creates navigational links on wiki pages allowing users to move to "next page" amd to "previous page")
Status (Status is used to record the uploading of images and when first transcribed)
First transcriber (Full name of the first transcriber of a specific page)
First transcribed (Date of first transcription of a specific page; uses U.S. date format: YEAR/MONTH/DAY)
Editorial history (Brief notes with names of editors and dates of major edits)
Note (Currently used to record the MarineLives image number)
Transcription image (Used to record the MarineLives image number)
Transcription (Field on page which contains the transcription)
Language (Specifies the language of the transcription; this field can be filled in as "Dutch", "English", "French", "Latin", "Spanish", or "Swedish"; the vast majority of our transcriptions are in English of original English language documents; we are increasingly adding foreign language documents in Dutch, German, Latin, and Spanish)
English translation (This field contains the English translation of a non-English original document; to date few transcriptions of non-English original documents have been translated into English)
People (This field contains annotations of the transcription on the same page concerning people named on the page)
Places (This field contains annotations of the transcription on the same page concerning places named on the page)
Ships (This field contains annotations of the transcription on the same page concerning ships named on the page)
Materials (This field contains annotations of the transcription on the same page concerning materials named on the page)
Primary sources (This field list primary sources of relevance to the transcription on the same page)
Secondary sources (This field list secondary sources of relevance to the transcription on the same page)
Suggested links (This field list suggested links of relevance to the transcription on the same page)

Floating metadata and contents boxes in the top right hand corner of every form based page. Example from HCA 13/71 f.400r

The predefined fields can be found in the floating metadata and contents boxes in the top right hand corner of each form based page

In the case of the page HCA 13/71 f.400r annotate ten of the potential nineteen predefined fields contain data and are therefore visible in the metadata and contents floating boxes in the top right hand corner of the page.

No data has been entered for Language, English translation, People, Places, Ships, Materials, Primary Sources, Secondary Sources, and Suggested Links
