Transcription

To the 11th and 12th articles hee cannot depose./

To the 13th hee saith that hee well remembreth that the arlate
Captaine Saunders did on board the TYger ffrigott presente to
the arlate John Keene a writing in paaper, (the contents whereof
hee knoweth not) and moved him to sett his hand thereto, which
the sayd John Keene refused to doe,And further to this article hee cannot
depose./

To the 14th hee saith that hee this deponent is the arlate harman
Goris, and hee doth by virtue of his oath positively affirme
that hee is not nor was at the tyme arlate or at any
tyme servant to any man nor ever told the sayd
Captaine Saunders that hee the sayd Saunders had undone
his the sayd Goris his Master or Masters or any words to that
effect And further to this article hee cannot depose./

To the 15th hee saith hee this deponent is the arlate harman Goris,
and is an English man borne and a subiect of this Commonwealth
and hath lived in England all his lifetyme save for the space of
about 4 or five yeares at severall tymes during which tyme hee
(useing the trade of Merchandizeing) hath lived in parts beyond the seas
as his occasions required, And saith hee is the sonne of Salomon
Goris deceased and Mary his wife, and was borne in Gratious
Streete London where and at this deponents fathers house called
[?hennage] house in dukes place arlate this deponent lived
with his sayd father and mother all his life tyme except the tyme of
his travaile beyond seas as aforesayd, And saith hee this deponent
is about twenty seaven yeares of age And further hee cannot depose/

To the 16th hee saith by virtue of his oath that hee this deponent did not at any tyme
tell the arlate Captaine Saunders that hee had not taken any bills of
ladeing at all for his the sayd Goris his goods in the hare in the ffeild,
but saith that hee this deponent told the sayd Saunders only to this
effect videlicet that hee the sayd Goris coming in person along with his
owne goods (and having before hand sent over land to Cadiz two severall
bills of ladeing signed by the arlate John Keene at Roane) intended
if neede soe required to have either a noate under the sayd
Keenes hand or two bills of ladeing for the two parcells of goods
hee had on board her, And by virtue of his oath doth positively averre
that hee did not tell the sayd Captaine Saunders that they were taken
when they were makeing bills of ladeing or any words to that effect And
further hee cannot depose/
