IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN the second day of May In the yeare of our Lord God One thousand six hundred sixtie and Two I Thomas Cullum of Hawsted place in the Countie of Suffolke Baronnett being in good health of Bodie and of good and perfect minde and memorie...”

“And although I am a freeman of the Cittie of London yet in as much as I have noe wife liveing and have hertofore preferred all my children in the World in manner following (viszt.) with my daughter Rebecca upon her marriage to Master Job Throckmorton Marchant she being since deceased from both whome I have a Release of all such customarie Childes part as he or she can or may clayme out of my Estate by the Custome of London haveing then paid him and her a good portion and given them over and above a verie good Addition since my eldest sonne Thoams Cullum being fullie preferred by me Alsoe I haveing upon and since his marriage setled upon him Mannors Lands and Tenements of a farr greater value than his Customary part of my Estate can amount unto which said severall settlements of divers of my Mannors Messuages Lands tenements and hereditaments upon my said Sonen Thomas Cullum upon and since hsi marriage I doe hereby ratifie....”
