By shipp London or Charles I received a few lynes from yo:w which ?importune so little business I was considering whither I should trouble yo:w w:th any returne, but being advised of yo:r possessing yo:r Selfe of my estate out of the hand of M:r Smith,[1] thought it necessary to acquaint yo:w that at my Leaving India I delivered yo:w all M:r Wyches[2] Acco:tt and among them one of Turenag, wherein yo:w will find I have made good unto his acco:tt only pte and pcell of his due, and whereas yo:w object to M:r Smith, that what he sould at Mocha belongs not unto mee because I brought not that unto Acco:tt returned on y:e Society, I answer that if y:e please to looke upon the pticular Acco:tt of Turenag[3] yo:w will find none wanting, but 13 ma:ds I say thirteen md:s & 6 soa:s whitch w:th the often Devision caused by sending it out & [or as] ??prells severally weighed was less and y:t objected I was satisfied fore in my taking..

“…My Acting in India I understand very well & shall not give you so much as the trouble of a reply when it is to so little purpose, yo:w promised me at parting nothing should follow, but what yo:w have writt ye:w best know and I have seen, But S:r give me leave to tell yo:w I hope in England to see yo:w and shall then acquaint yo:w as mabe it appears, I defxxxxx not, as never was guilty of what yo:w are pleased to advise
S:r The Earle of Marleburgs[4] being gonn to slepp in the bedd of ?home cannott receave yo:e thanks for his Clarrett sent yo:w And so mxxxx xxxxxx I have for his memory that I think he would not have been silent to have returned yo:w complyment & more
