such was the bargaine) And he saith that he this deponent
sent unto his precontest Mr Roger Middleton 100 Dollars
which sayd 100 dollars and the two half peices of fine scarlett
cloth were payd in part of payment of the [?same] remainder
of the said Currance, And further he cannot depose.

To the fifth article he deposeth and saith That the arlate William
ffowke came to Petras on the nineteenth of September 1654
and that he this deponent and others the factors and Agents of
the producents sispecting that he was come thither to make some
disturbance about the said Currance, he this deponent did
make him acquainted with the bargaine predeposed of, and
that the said ffowke promised him this deponent and have
him his hand upon it that he would not in the least manner
didturbe them in their having or receiving the said Currance
according to the said bargaine, and that he would rather further
or assist them then hinder them therin, And that notwithstanding
his being acquainted with the said bargaine, And his said promise
he the sayd ffowke did without ant consent from the
(Vice Consull (the Consull being then dead) goe privately to the
Bashaw, and that (as this deponent was told there in the
Country) he gave presents and moneys to deprive the Agents
of the producents of receiving the remainder of the said Currance
And further he cannot depose.

To the sixth article

To the 7th he deposeth that the Country people being by the
subtle and crafty insinuations of the said ffowke and his
instrument Anthonio Tappens [?XXXXX] against the said
shipps Company the Morea Merchant, they did not deliver
the remainder of the said Petras Currance being about
18 thousand weight unto the said producents Agents, and he the
sayd
