Transcription

To the second Interrogatorie hee saith that the Interrogate Bartlet and Company
(who sue for wages in this cause) after they had as is predeposed required of
the foresayd William Maples part of their wages due to them to buy thenm
necessaries and sawe that hee denyed to pay them any, and well seeing that
the shipp Thomas and Lucie was much decayed and not fitt to goe upon a tradeing
voyage without much cost and tyme spent in the repayreing and fitting of her
to goe to sea, did refuse to staye in the sayd shipp and deserted her
without the consent of the sayd Maples who told them hee would get his
sayd shipp repayred with all speede And further hee cannot answere not
knowing nor having heard of any protest made by the sayd Maples/
