1. To the sixth he answereth that he can both write and

3. To the seaventh it concerneth not him
4. To the 8th that the weather was at the time interrate
5. thicke and misty, but he saith that (as he beleiveth) that
6. was not the onely cause of the said shipps missing
7. the channell, for .... some of the shipps Company
8. thought they had discovred land and bearing up
9. accordingly, the shipp fell into Severne, And further
10. he knoweth not to answere/
11. To the ninth he cannot (of his owne knowledge) answer for
12. that he did not heare the interrate Croford or his ˹Mates˺ .......
13. give any order for the weighing her anchor and carrying
14. her to Milford, and soe to London, But he saith he
15. did heare that the Captaine was desirous to goe with
16. the sayd shipp for London, and that therupon he this
17. Rendent did heare the said Marriners mutter against
18. going to London, And that upon good grounds (as
19. he conceiveth) aswell in respect of the leakines of
20. the sayd shipp as the scarcity of provisions, and alsoe
21. the danger of comming out of Aberdee without a pylott
22. as at that time she had none, And further he
23. cannot answere./
