Transcription

hath made another voyage from London to Mallega, and
backe from Mallega to London laden with wyne and
fruite, but how much in tonnage the same did
account to he cannot expresse, because hee
kepte noe accompte thereof, Et alr [?XX ?XXX]
arlacon nescit deponere.

Ad 2um nescite deponere./

Ad 4um That the Merchants freighters of the said
shippe the Hector the voyage in question did not
Lade in her that voyage any ledd, whereas if
they had laded the said voyage into her as
much Ledd as would he ballasted her,
shee might have carried
forty tonnes of fishe the same voyage more
then shee did for that Ledd soe much
as would have ballasted er would habe
Layen sixe inches Lower then the ballast in her
did; And that hee affirmeth uppon his oath to bee
true, who was Masters Mate of that shippe
the said voyage, Et alr nescit./

Ad 5um affirmat That iff a shipp of the
burthen of three hundred tonnes have laden in
her two hundred and fifty tonnes of fishe, shee
muste have in her at the least fifty tonnes
of ballast in her, or otherwise shee cannott
saile, And this hee affirmeth to be true
who hath used the sea these 15 or 16
yeares, Et alr nescit./

Ad 6um nescit deponere;/

Ad 7um affirmat, That the said shippe the
Hector the voyage did carry from Newfoundland
to the Streights at the least sixty tonnes of
ballast, and without soe much ballast shee
could not goe through the sea to performe her
voyage, Et alr nescit./
