On the behalfe of William Scapes of}
Rotterdam merchant touching the shipp William and Thomas}
William Scapes of Rotterdam in holland Merchant
aged 45 yeares or thereabouts sworne before the right
Worshipfull William Clarke doctor of lawes one of the Judges
of the high Court of the Admiralti[?a] saith and deposeth
Rp.
That the shipp the William and Thomas of the port of Rotterdam aforesaid
(Robert Williams master) was in or about the moneth of June last set out
from Rotterdam aforesaid in her ballast by him this deponent and company
her owners to goe to Norway, there to take in her lading of deales
lathes and other goods and thence to goe and transport the same and make
sale thereof at Newcastle, and with the proceede thereof to be laden with
coales, and soe to retourne directly for Rotterdam for the finishing of her
voyage. Which hee knoweth and is able to depose being one of the owners
aforesaid, and present at Rotterdam when shee was soe set out, whence
hee this deponent wrote letters to Newcastle of the said intent and designe
of her voyage.

The claime of Briab Weaver and company}
for a vessell lately called the John Pinke etcetera}
Examined upon an allegation given on the behalfe of
the said weaver and company.
Rp. jus.
Daniel Fox of Woolwich in the County of kent
Shipwright aged 23 yeares or thereabouts, sworne and
examined, saith and deposeth as followeth, videlicet.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that hee well
knoweth the producents Brian Weaver, John Williams, George kni[?pe],
John Lewis and mr ffranklin all living neare the citi[?a] of London, and saith that they
have bin for the time arlate and are the true and lawfull owners and proprietors
of the shipp or vessell arlate lately called the John Pinke
and soe commonly accompted, which hee knoweth
having lately heard theire bill of ladeing read, and for the other reasons following
and otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the second article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that within
the time aforesaid and more particularly in the moneth of March
last was a twelve moneth the said vessell the John Pinck remayning in this
port of London was hired and taken up for the service of the Parliament
to Convoy barques and other small vessells to and from port to port in
this commonwealth, which hee knoweth because hee this examinate went out in
her in that service as Carpenter of her. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.
To the third and fourth articles hee saith and deposeth that the said shipp or
vessell going thence in the said service was and remained within the said time
in the port of Linn in Norfolke, having thither vonveyed some small
vessells, and while shee soe remained there, [?Colonell] Walton arlate
being there, did order and command the arlate Captaine George knipe
her commander to convoy thense severall small vessells to the port of
London, and that the said Captaine knipe being in his course with the said
shipp the John in the said imployment for London was off North yarmouth
