Transcription

Turkish Emperour And other wise referring himselfe to his foregoeing
deposition hee saith hee cannot depose saveing that of his knowledge
neither of the said parties producents were or are borne in any part of the
dominions of the ffrench King nor are they any wayes Subiects to him
nor doe they pay any tribute unto the said King or any Minister
of his.

To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the Saint Martyn att the
tyme of the seizure thereof was and is a ffrench ship and belongeth to
some Port in ffrance And saith that both the Commander and company
of the said ship (except 5 or 6 men only who were Venetians) were
and are ffrench men And saith that the goods which this deponent and the
producents with the other Armenianes Claymers of goods taken in the said ship at
this tyme doe claime now and are laded for theire owne propper accompts and was
for the use or account of none else whatsoever And otherwise referring
himselfe to his foregoeing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose
saveing that hee cannot tell whether or noe there are any goods abord the
said ship which doe belong unto any French men

To the fowrth Interrogatorie hee saith that hee hath nothing to doe with the said
ship or any of her loading save onlly in the goods which by him are now
claimed and which are truly his owne. nor hath hee any relation to either
of the parties producent wither as a p[XXXX] or as a factor, And saith it will
bee neither of Advantage or damage to him for his owne particular whether
the parties producent doe gaine or louse theire gooddds now claymed
because they are theire owne and that hee hath Noe share therein. And
farther hee cannot depose.

To the 5th Interrogatorie hee saith that the goods now claymed are of the growth and
Manufacture of Gylam in Persia at which place this deponent sawe
the said Co?fia Kamar buy those goods by him now claymed And did
likewise see and was present when the saud Cagia Jacomo bought the
goods by him now allsoe claymed, hee this deponent being the person that
did help to drive the bargaine on this behalfe for the same, All
which hee saith was bought and paid for by [XXX XXXX XXXX] by and with ready moneys
which is the only thing for which the said goods are at Galam comonly and ?generally sold
And otherwise hee cannot depose:

To the 6th Interrogatorie hee saith that the said Jacomo came
from Leghorne ymediatly before hee came to Smirna and
the said Kamar hee saith came then from Persia thither And saith
the said goods claymed by the producents came not out of any French Factory
at Smirna or else where but were by them bought with
theire owne monies as is predeposed in this deponents presence And
saith that No Frenchman or any other whatsoever did
runne or were to undergoe the hazard or Adventure of the said
goods save only the producent to whom the sayd did and doe wholely
belong. And further hee cannot depose
