Cloppenburgh is Master) then lyeing at or neare Cadiz in Spaine
his the producent proper accompt and Risico foure small barrs of silver made up in
Canvas, weighing together one hundred ninety seaven markes three ounces
and a half of the first marke and numbers in the margent, Three barres of
Silver of the second marke of and numbers in the margent, and two barres of silver of the third
marke and numbers in the margent, And saith That within the moneths predeposed
the said producent in like manner laded or caused to be laden aboard the shipp the
Sampson arlate; whereof Otto George is Master, three barrs of silver of the
fourth marke and number in the margent, two barrs of silver of the 5th marke
and number in the margent, two peeces of silver covered with Canvas of the
6th marke in the margent weighing together sixty two markes, and one [?XX]
bagg of the 7th marke in the margent sealed containing foure hundred
Spanish Matts, And hee did also in or about the time and at the
place aforesaid lade or cause to bee laden on board the shipp the Saint George
arlate, whereof John Martin is Master, foure litle barrs of silver
covered with canvas weighing together one hundred three markes five
ounces and a half of the eight marke and number in the margent, two barrs
of silver of the 9th marke and number and one little bagg with one thousand
peeces of eight Peru money of the 10th marke in the margent, all to be
transported and carried in the said Shippe to Ostend in fflanders and there
to be delivered to the said producent or his assignes for his use and
accompt, The premises hee knoweth, being Cashier and booke keeper to the
said producent, and by that meanes particularly acquainted with his whole
negotiation, and the sending of the goods predeposed into Spaine, and the mutual
letters of advice sont between the said producent and his said ffactors concerning
the receipt and disposall of the said goods, and the returnes ordered by the said
producent to be made, and a afterwards actually performed in the providing
and sending of the bullion plate and Coyne predeposed for which the said
producent before the seizure of the said shipps and their respective ladeing
received letters of advise, and bills of ladeing enclosed from his respective
factors which said letters and bills of ladeing this deponent read and diligently
perused, and entred the sevrall parcells of silver plate and coyne predeposed and
the said producents booke of accounts according to the purports markes and
numbers predeposed found in the said bills of lading respectively, And said
That after the receipt of the said letters of advise and bills of ladeing and
before and newes at Antwerp of the seizure of the said shipps, the said
producent sent a letter (which this deponent then Registered) to one Mr Rishoult
and Companie his Correspondents here with order to tender an intimation and an express to this court
of all or most part of the monies plate and bullion predeposed which the said Rishoult afterwards signified by letters to the said producent that he had effectiually done[?] And saving
his following depositions hee saith hee cannot further depose
