  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number

Transcription

To the 3. he saith he knoweth not the sayd Nys or Mottet otherwise
than by Correspondencyes where by he knoweth that the sayd Isaac John
Nys liveth in Legorne, and the sayd Mottet att Marselles, and hath knowne
them so by correspondency seven yeares. and the sayd Malines
who lives at Legorne, in like sort foure yeares. And saith he is well
assured that the sayd partyes nor any of them is interressed in the property
or hazard of the sayd goods or any part of them. And further
cannot depose.

To the 4th. he saith he saw not the sayd goods bought or payd for, but
beleiveth that the sayd Nys and Moline bought the Oras att Legorne
And that the sayd Mottett bought the sayd almonds at Marsellys And
further cannot depose.

To the 5th he saith order was given for the buying of the sayd
goods by letters of advise the delivery whereof to the sayd parties
this deponent saw not.

To the 6th he saith It is not usuall for the sayd Mr Tryon to doe any
thing in factoryes for and by Commission from others, and particularly
not for the sayd Nys, M[?oline] and Mottett who are his factors as
aforesayd and not he theirs, And further not knowing what trade
the sayd persons drive for them selves he saith he cannot depose.

To the 12th he saith there is not any Insurance made upon the sayd goods
or any of them so far as he knoweth beleiveth or hath heard.

To the 13th he saith that for the reasons aforesayd he is well assured and doth
verily believe, that the sayd goods were really bought for the sayd
ffrancis Tryon, and that none of the sayd persons Nys Molines, or Mottett
did or doe in any case whatsoever runn any riske or hazard of the
sayd goods or any of them. And further otherwise than negatively
referring to his foregoeing depositions he saith he cannot depose.
