said Robert Church for and as the proper goods of the said John
Thomas and to be transported in her to London for his accompt, And so
much the said Robert Church both before at and since the Lading of
the said bundles of hides expressed and declared aboard his said shipp in
the presence of this deponent and the rest of the said shipps Companie
And this deponent further saith, That the said 140. bundles of Russia
hides or thereabouts were the last goods received on board the said shipp
at Archangell aforesaid, and were stowed uppermost, and loose in
bundles onely and not in bales, the rest of the Russia hides laden
there aboard the said shipp being brought aboard and laden on board
save onely that some few bales were opened which were disposed of
and stowed in the breadroome which perished togeather with the said
shipp as hereafter followeth. The premisses hee well knoweth being and
serving aboard the said shipp during the Voiage and the disaster in
question. And further cannot depose./

To the 4: 5:: and 6th: hee saith and deposeth, That the said shipp
having taken in her full lading at Archangell aforesaid departed
thence with the same towards London and being in her Course hither
wards was by strong and tempetuous weather forced and struck
upon Colchester sands where shee remaining some timeentire, the
said Master caused a hoy to come aboard her to preserve some part of
the said shipps ladeing, and thereupon the said 140. bundles of hides
being the uppermost of the said Lading were taken first out of the said
shipp and stowed in the said hoy togeather with some other goods and so
were all saved and preserved, Which hee knoweth being and seeing
as aforesaid in and aboard the said shipp, and seeing the premisses so had,
and done as is predeposed, And Otherwise referring himselfe to the
Commission of enquiry issued out of this Court hee cannot further
depose, save as this deponent hath credibly heard, the said hides and
other goods so preserved aare since brought to this Port of London and are
in the Custodie and possession of the allate Mr ffowell./
