said shipp the Salvador amd the shipps the Sampson and Saint George arlate, hee
the said Trumpeter confessed and said that all the said shipps belonged to
holland, and
that the shipp the Salvador was this voyage vbound for Amsterdam to dischardge, And
this discourse hee saith happened in the dutch language which this deponent
(as hee saith) can very well speake and understand. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.

Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent.

To the crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the 37th hee saith that the said confession of the sid Trumpeter was made
in an upper roome of the said house knowne by the signe of the shipp having a balcone before it
towards the water side, and for the day and houre hee saith it was about
two or three of the clock in the morning of satturday the 22th of
January last, they having bin there all the foregoing night, And that then
and there were present besides this deponent and the said Trumpeter
Abraham Johnson his precontest and his contest William Pembridge,
together with one mr Simonds belonging to the prize office, And
otherwise saving his foregoing deposition to which hee referreth himselfe
hee cannot depose, for hee was not in the voyage in question, nor
can say ought thereof more then by heare say.

To the 40th hee saith that if it were or had bin in his power hee would
have longe since condemned the said shipps the Sampson, the Salvador and
the Saint George with their lading for prize, because hee beleeveth them
to be hollands shipps and goodsm and such as aought to be condemned to
this Commonwealth.

To the 43th hee saith that hee is a Chirurgeon by trae and calling, and
hath bin a Lieutenant of horse for the Parliament for the most part of
the late warrs, and that hee payeth all duties of his parish, but not
any thinge to the taxes of the army or navie, not being of
abilitie thereto, having bin plundred by the kings partie.

Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of partie ministrant.

or thereabouts sworne and examined

To the nyneteenth Article of the sayd Allegation hee saith and deposeth that on or about the 22th
of January last past hee this deponent being in Company of Cornelius Peterson Trumpeter
of the shippp the Salvador arlate att the signe of the shipp in Woolwich heard the sayd Cornelius
in discourse acknowledge and confesse that the sayd shipp that voyage was bound for
Amsterdam or holland thereto dischaardge and had her Owners there dwelling
and otheriwse hee cannot depose/
