5. Examined upon an allegation on the behalfe
6. of the said harris and others 7th March last.
7. <margin value="left margin">X. Rp. .J.</margin>
8. Edward Arlibeare of Wapping Wall in the County
9. of Middlesex Mariner, aged 32 yeeres or thereabouts
10. sworne and exámined.
11. To the first article hee saith and deposeth that thXX XXX this deponent
12. the master, and his Company of the shipp arlate the Mathew and John
13. did not begin to take or receive into her at Newfound Land (the voyage
14. in question) any fish upon the account of the arlate Walters, Pursell
15. Webb and Massey and company untill all the said fish was well
16. Cured before the nine and twentieth day of July 1650, which hee
17. knoweth being master of the said shipp and receiving the same there
18. aboard.
19. To the second and third articles hee saith and deposeth that all the
20. fish which was taken in and received aboard the said shipp the said voyage
21. at Newfound land for the use and account of the said Walters, Pursell,W
22. ebb Massey and Company, was at the time of the said receipt thereof
23. aboard very well cured, and was good fish, and soe continued unto
24. the time of the delivery thereof, and saith there was noe part thereof
25. throwne overboard or spoiled by the way, but the same was all delivered
26. in very good order and condition in Spaine ˹Bilboa˺ but the factorX or agentX
27. of the said Walters and Company, namely to Mr Joseph Throckkmortin,
28. who seeing and receiving the said fish in good order and condition
29. ˹(who was purposely sent to New found land by the said walters, Pursell and company˺ to tXXX GUTTER

37. haveing noe cause of exception against the same, drew bills of
38. exchange upon the said Walters, Pursell and company aforesaid for payment
39. of the price of the said fish unto the producents harris, Bowier and
40. company; and since this deponents retourne hee hath bin informed that the
41. said Walters, Pursell and company have accepted the said bills, and paid
42. the moneys accordingly without contradiction, or taking any exceptions
43. against the condition of the said fish or any part thereof. The premisses
44. touching the intire transportation of the said cargo of fish from
45. Newfound land to Bilboa, and delivery there of the same to the said
46. Mr Thorckmorton, factor of and for the said Walters, Pursell and
47. carrying aforesaid ˹in good condition˺ hee knoweth because hee this deponent went master
48. of the said shipp from Newfound land to Bilboa and there made the
49. said delivery thereof.
