1. shipp or vessell arlate then called the swan, whereof the arlate John
2. ffawkener then was master or Commander being soe constitued by the said
3. Bressey as this deponent was constantly informed during ketch tried as hee
4. this examinate know, and served in her as right hand masters mate xxx
5. the voiage which shee begann from this port of london in the moneth of
6. December 1654. aforesaid. And further cannot depose./
7. To the second hee saith that hee this deponent well knoweth, that the arlate John
8. Vinitro served in and aboard the said shipp for Carpenter, the arlate
9. William sill for Gunner and the arlate Henry ˹fenley˺ for cooke of the
10. said shipp at such time as she proceeded upon the voiage aforesaid, but by
11. whome they and each of there respectively were or was hired, and for
12. how much monethly wages, hee saith hee knoweth not, for that he was not
13. present at ˹such˺ their said hiring or agreement for wages, And further cannot
14. depose, saving that this deponent aboard the said shippseuverall times heard the said
15. vinihro and which say, that hee was to have 13 li p moneth wages. for
16. his service as carpenter as aforesayd, and beleeveth the said vinitro
17. for his time and service in the said shipp deserved 3 li p moneth, and soe
18. which this deponent saw entered in the pursers booke of the said shipp, And
19. beleeveth the said William Sill at gunner deserved twenty wages
20. of 2 li 9 li and the said Henry fenley of XX 7li p moneth as is arlate
21. this deponent having in voiages of the like condition knowne soe much) ˹or more˺ paid
22. to men that served in the said qualities of Gunner and cooke./
23. To the third article hee saith, that the said John Vinitro William Sill and
24. Henry fenley being and serving aboard the said shipp in the rerportive
25. quantities aforesaid upon or about the 1th day of december 1654: aforesaid
26. recieved halfe pay, and that ˹or about a˺ the 13th of the same moneth) the said shipp
27. sett sayle from gravesend upon her then intended voiage for the Bermudas
28. and was by contrary wind necessitated in her course thitherwards to
29. putt into ffalmouth) from whense peroceeding upon the said intended voiage
30. shee spring a leake, and was necessitated to put into Milford haven to
31. repaire, which was about the beginning of ffebruary 1654: Then
32. preamisses hee knoweth for that hee served in and aboard the said shipp
33. at masters mate of her all the time aforesaid, And further cannot depose./
34. To the 4th hee saith that in or about the moneth of Aprill 1655

35. the said John Vinitro William Sill and Henry ffenley togeather or
36. others of the said shipps companie then at Milford haven were by ˹bertne of˺
37. a decree under the seale of this Court menished by the said John ffawkener
38. the master tgth desert but to goe aboard and serve and peroceed in the said
39. shipp ˹as this deponent heard the 5th parties a fforme, hee xxxxxx himself soe monished in prison˺ And referring himselfe to the said decree or chanrtioy, hee saith hee
40. cannot further depose

41. To the 5th hee saith that the said John Vinitro William Sill and
42. Henry fenley accordaign to the said xxxxxxxx have ever since attended
43. upon the service and repaire of the said shipp at Milford Haven
44. and have been readie ˹to doe˺ according to the duty X of their respective
45. places at the said Masters Command and since the said 8th of december
46. 16454. till upon or about the 5th of this present moneth of Aprill
47. they ha nor any of them have or hath beene in any other service
48. which hee saith hee well knoweth for that hee this deponent in the
49. quality aforesayd for all the time predeposed served in and aboard
50. the same shipp the Swan, And saith, That in or about the moneth of
51. December 1655. last past ˹and not before˺ the said John ffawkener the Master did
52. say and declare with this deponent that the said shipp should or would not proceed
53. upon her said voiage to the Bermudas, for that the said Brossey
54. had sold her, And that hee beleeveth the said ˹Vintro and Sill 2 of the said˺ parties Agent xx in this
