Transcription

1. there came one by the name of Captaine Chillingworth with certaine
2. persons with him, and in a rude manner made seizure aboard of
3. the said fiftie three pipes of wine and 677 hides, and alsoe of
4. other goods in the said shipp, which hee knoweth because hee this deponent
5. was then aboard and saw the same seizure./

16. To the eighteenth article of the said allegacion hee saith and deposeth
17. that he hath well known the arlate Antonio ffernandez Caravajall
18. during all which time for theise nineteene ˹eighteen˺ yeeres last past, during
19. all which time hee the said ffernandez hath lived and doth at TO DO: present
20. live in this citiee of London, and for all the said time hee the
21. said Antonio ffernandez Caravajall hath and at present kept
22. house and familie in this said citie, first in Creechuch Lane
23. and nowe neere Creechurch in London all streete where hee
24. hath dwelt about seventeene yeeres last, namely in the said house
25. in Leadenhall streete, all which hee knoweth because hee this examinate
26. hath for all the time aforesaid lived neere him in the said streete, and
27. for all the said time used (as a Barber) to trim him. And
28. for that the said ffernandez hath for all the said time bin
29. accounted for a greate trader in and for wines being a marchant of
30. good account and greate dealing. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

38. interrate formerly brought into this Court and his persusal thereof hee
39. answereth and saith that he did not write the said second, third and fourth
40. or fifth bill or schedules XXX hee being than XXXXX infirme by reason of
41. some here received, but hee found the said second, third and fourth
42. with his owne hand as now appeareth and gave order for the writing
