or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and examined saith and
deposeth as followeth videlicet./

19. To the first article of the sayd allogation hee saith that by reason hee this
20. deponent was Purser of the shipp the Cesar of London (wereof William ffudge was
21. commander) in and during the voyage in question hee thereby knoweth that the arlate
22. Edward Wright and william Langhorne did in the moneth of June last videlicet June
23. 1655 reside at Genoa arlate and did their negotiate as factors and correspon =
24. dents of the arlate Thomas Rowse and ffrancis ffowke did at Genoa
25. laide aboard the said shipp Cesar certaine moneys for the use of the sayd
26. Thomas Rowse and ffrancis ffowke, and configure the same to be delivered to
27. the arlate Wiliam ffowkes then counsull of the Morea for the English nation,
28. to be buisnes by him imployed for the use of the sayd Thomas Rowse and ffrancis
29. ffowkes, to whome the sayd william ffowke was their, factor and correspondent,
30. And hee alsoe saith that hee well knoweth that the arlate Thomas Hiner was
31. viceconsull to the sayd William ffowke at the Morea and hee this deponent same
32. the Cad and did article these as his Viceconsull and did negotiate all the sayd
33. william ffowkes busines in his absence as his viceconsull and alsoe in his
34. master of marchandise there, and did alsoe then negotiate as factor and
35. correspondent of the sayd Thomas Rowse, and ffrancis ffowke in the absence of the
36. sayd william ffowke, this hee knoweth being pursor as a aforesayd and
37. residing ˹often˺ on shoare at Petras in the sayd Counsulls house ˹during the voyage in question˺ and being XXXXX

39. To the 2 article hee saith hee knoweth that there was fowe thousand dollars
40. ˹basing the some moneth unintened in his deposition to the first article˺ laden by the foresayd Edward Wright and William Langhorne aboard the
41. Cesar a foresayd for the use and Accompt of the sayd Thomas Rowse and
42. ffrancis ffowke in the moneth of june 1655 ˹(old style)˺ and consignined as aforesayd
43. to the sayd William ffowke in the Morea to bee by him employed in paying
44. for Currants ˹for their use˺ toward the ladeing of the Cesar aforesayd, And further
45. to this article hee cannot depose. saving hee saith that hee knoweth that some part of
46. the sayd money was paid to the sayd Thomas Oliver, and other part of it to him
47. the sayd William ffowke in presense of this deponent./

48. To the 3 hee saith that by reason hee was present at the drawing signeing and sealing
49. of the Charterparty touching the same hee knoweth that the arlate Edward Wright
50. and william Langhorne did as corresponents of the arlate Thomas Rowse and ffrancis
51. ffowke and on their behalfe enter into the Charterparty with William ffudge Commander
52. of the Cesar aforesayd then at Genoa in the moneth of June last that hee the sayd
53. ffudge should thense depart with his shipp the Cesar to Castle de Marr, there to take
54. in such goods or should bee laden aboard her there by the arlate John Byam
