1. the same, and saith they were hired to serve by the moneth; and not
2. otherwise, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
3. To the third hee saith the said shipp went from the Texell directly to
4. the island of Tobago, one of the charabbes, thence to the wild coast
5. and there delivered severall good goods upon truck for tobaccoes thence
6. to Santa Cruse and there delivered more, and tooke in goods there
7. but received noe freight at any place.
8. To the fourth hee caried .............. one peece of serge and two peeces
9. of other stuff from Amsterdam, and alsoe two other ... peeces of another
10. sort of stuff, ˹and bultinis˺ all amounting in fullXXd to 150 gilders, and were all
11. for his owne account, And the master carried wine, brandewine, stuffs,
12. lianens and other goods. And otherwise hee cannot answer.
13. To the 5th negatively, saving that the master hath here lately furnished
14. them with money towards discharge of their ........ diet and lodging and
15. necessaries, ˹to .... keep them from perishing˺ as much as amounted to tenn moneths and a halfe of

22. were to have their victualls for their worke, and assoone as the
23. shipp was brought into England, they went their wayes for Holland
24. in a dutch man of warr; that was the Convoy from ... Gravesend,
25. and saith .............. the Morning starr was taken by the frigat of
26. this Commonwealth on the last of Aprill last, new stile as hee

34. of the said shipp the Morning starr aged 30 yeeres or
35. thereabouts sworne and exámined.
36. To the said Allegation ˹and schedule annexed˺ hee saith and deposeth that for all the time
37. allegate namely from the 17:th of May 1656: untill the 17th of September
38. 1656 and Longer, Claus Williamss was, and still is Master of the
39. arlate ship the Morning Starr; And for such Comonly acco[mpted GUTTER]
40. And that hee hyred this deponent and the rest of the Mariners
41. schedulated (being nowe read over unto him) to serve as
42. Mariners in the said Ship, for the voyage allegate, at the
43. rates and wayges respectively mentioned and sett downe in
44. the said schedule, And that this deponent and the rest of the s[aid GUTTER]
