  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Deck perceived, they did Imediately call up all or y:e greatest
pt of the Agreem:ts Company upon her deck, and they
did beare up with the said Ship the Agreem:t and did
all that possibly men in such a Case could do: to p:rvent
the Abigails coming upon y:m The p:rmisses hee deposeth
being y:e foresaid time on y:e Agreem:ts Deck
and one that called out to y;e Abigails company to y:e
effect aforesaid, and did alsoe helpe & doe his endeavo:r in

To the 4_d & 4:th hee saith that Notwithsatnding y:e meanes used
by y:e Company of the Agreemt as aforesaid y:e said Lavezick
and Company did either in a willfull or carless manner
come after y:e said Ship y:e Agreem:t with a greate Saile
having all her sailes standing, and before the winde
and likewise in a willfull or careless manner came up
to y:e said Ship y:e Agreem:t and glanced by her, and onely
touched her Bow and quarter, and having soe done came
round, and sailed towards y:e South Shore, and y:e Agreem:t
kept on her Course, and y:e Abigaile never touched y:e
Agreen:t after that time, nor y:e Agreement her: And saith
that at y:e said time when y:e Abigail glanced by y:e Agreem:t
& touched her bowe & quarter as aforesaid y:e Abigaile was to windeward
of the Agreem:t and saith it was Impossible for y:e Agreem:t
to come foule of y:e Abigaile y:e said time, And saith that
had not the Company of the Agreem:t as aforesaid
used all meanes & dilligence to avoid y:e Abigail, y:e Abigail
would undoubtedly runne directly upon y:e Midships of
the Agreem:t and by that meanes sinke her and her Lading
